The Ustar Disposable Nucleic Acid Lateral Flow Detection Device (Cat. No. CO2040), supplied by Attogene, gives a rapid, visual read-out of amplified nucleic acid inside a sealed cartridge. After amplification, the reaction tube is placed in the cartridge and locked into the device, so amplified product never leaves the closed system. This greatly reduces the risk of cross-contamination and false-positive results compared with opening tubes for gel electrophoresis.

How it works
The detection strip uses an antibody-based immunochromatographic sandwich format. Amplicons labeled with both biotin and 6-FAM (or FITC) are captured at the Test line (T), which turns red when the target is present. The Control line (C) appears in every valid test to confirm the strip ran correctly.

Compatible chemistries
PCR, LAMP, cross priming amplification (CPA) and other nucleic acid amplification methods. When using your own reagents, label one primer or probe with biotin and the other with 6-FAM or FITC so that both labels are incorporated into the target amplicon.

CRISPR-Cas detection (for example Cas12 or Cas13 trans-cleavage assays) using biotin/6-FAM (or FITC) dual-labeled reporters can also be read on the device. In reporter-cleavage formats the Test line weakens or disappears when the target is present, so interpret results according to your assay protocol.
