The kit provides a simple and reliable procedure and materials for coupling amine-containing oligonucleotides for use in lateral flow or ELISA type procedures. The BSA portion of the conjugate allows stable tethering to nitrocellulose membranes or ELISA plates surfaces. The procedure is rapid -requiring only 90 minutes to complete. Each kit contains four single use vials of preactivated, nuclease-free BSA to conveniently produce protein-oligonucleotide conjugates. Approximately 600 nanomole of amine-modified oligonucleotide is used for each reaction. The kit enables oligonucleotides to be used with the Blank 4.5 mm Lateral Flow Strips for LFA Development (AU2054) and either Streptavidin Colloidal Gold (AU2017) or Streptavidin CdZnS Quantum Dots (AU2043).
