This is a reminder to check the Lake Erie HAB Forecast. Satellite imagery is detecting cyanobacteria in far western Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to Monroe, MI. Scum is likely during low wind conditions in eastern Maumee Bay. We will continue to monitor conditions and send weekly reminders to check the forecast system throughout the bloom season. This bulletin provides a summary and forecast of the Microcystis harmful algal blooms (HABs) in western Lake Erie. Updates will be e-mailed to subscribers with important information regarding bloom status and significant features.
