Senior Scientist

Attogene is seeking an individual with a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Chemistry or other closely related field, to join our team. Prior experience with cell culture and monoclonal antibody manufacturing is preferable. The candidate will work independently on R&D projects and report to a product manager. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve and effectively discuss data at meetings. Data organization and presentation is an important part of the position.

 Major responsibilities of the Research Associate will include: ELISA, lateral flow and take part on projects that require a high degree of organization.

Responsibilities include:


The role of the Senior Scientist will include conjugation of antibodies protein carriers, conjugation of small molecules and nucleic acids to reporter and carrier molecules such as colloidal gold.  A good understanding of biochemistry, protein purification and chemistry methods is a plus.

The Senior Scientist will also be encouraged to write SBIR grants, develop intellectual property and manufacture products.  Experience developing, establishing, and validating analytical test methods for raw materials, production intermediates, and final products and transferring validated protocols to production is a plus. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. with 0 – 3 years of relevant industrial experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and a strong desire to work in a challenging and dynamic interdisciplinary environment are required.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Chemistry or other closely related field
    • Prior experience with cell culture and monoclonal antibody manufacturing is preferable.
    • Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining technical laboratory equipment
    • The ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques
    • Ability to use technical equipment with maximum accuracy and efficiency
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Outstanding attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently or with a team
    • Strong time management skills

    Experience:

    • Previous experience in a laboratory environment as a Scientist I or higher 
    • Familiar with following technologies:
      • Lateral Flow, ELISA, Enzyme assays, PCR, Nucleic Acid isolation, Cell culture
